Rainbow colours project

UNIT 7.

CREATING COLOURS

In this unit of this project, we will investigate and explore about primary and secondary colours.

We will use Christmas time as an excuse to develop this teaching learning unit in which

children will have to observe the differences among features in the toys and its wrapping materials

such a paper and carboard boxes. They will learn  about comparison of shapes and colours,

focusing their attention on colours.  We will ask the kids to tell their classmates about their

favourite toy in a Show & Tell activity.

Regarding the wrap paper  and boxes, we will focus on the colours and materials they are made of.

We will suggest  creating our own  toy using recycling material.

To decorate our new toys we will introduce the primary colours and we will mix them to create new ones, secondary colours . To mix and create the colours we will use a light board.

UNIT 8.

RAINBOW PANCAKES

In this unit of this project, children will have to investigate and explore with fruits which have

different colours. We will order fruits according to their colour and type of colours learned in the

previous unit.

Each group will be recorded while they make the pancakes and while each one says one ingredient of the recipe in order to show families how to make them, encouraging families and children to cook with their children promoting a healthy nutrition. We will add this recipe to our recipes book.
